| The Greenfield Hill Village Improvement Society’s Board of Directors has been investigating the prospect of accepting responsibility for the restoration and preservation of Greenfield Hill Grange Hall - Pomona #133. In fact, the building is now listed with National Register of Historic Places. Structural inspections, a title search, a septic inspection and preliminary analysis of fire and health codes were conducted. The findings were all positive and the Board voted unanimously to pursue expenses and legalities of accepting ownership.
Our Grange is located at 1873 Hillside Road and was organized on January 23, 1893; it is a wonderful example of Colonial Revival era Grange Hall’s. The building represents an important part of the agricultural and social history of Fairfield and the Society is pleased to be in a position to preserve its legacy for future generations. If you would like information about our “Save the Grange” project please contact John Jones at (203) 254.3503, or Connecticut State Grange for more information about Grange’s.
